I approach my work with sensitivity and compassion to create a safe environment in which issues can be explored. I have over twenty years of experience working with adults, couples, adolescents and children.
My approach is to help you to discover the unique person you are, whether you are a professional, an artist, a stay-at-home parent, a couple, or a child. Whether your challenge is situational, chronic, or acute, my goal is to help you learn how to create a more meaningful and fulfilled life and enrich your relationships with others. To become more awake to pursue a life that mirrors who you are.
I work deeply and pragmatically, so that you gain both insight and practical knowledge, and I am always mindful of the deeper, spiritual aspects of what it means to change and evolve. My goal is to help you gain radical acceptance while actively creating the life that you want to be living.
I have worked with people on many issues including:
- creating healthy relationships
- spiritual growth
- life transitions
- grief and loss (death, divorce, life changes, etc)
- parenting issues
- conflict resolution
- parenting a child with illness or disability
- issues related to sexuality (including LGBTQI related issues, paraphilias, sex addiction) or sexual behaviors
I also specialize in helping couples to renew, deepen or repair their relationship or to separate/divorce. I have helped couples after infidelity, addiction, and/or other major disruption rebuild trust and intimacy. I have also helped couples who decide to end their relationship/marriage and want to end it as amicably as possible. Using a therapist to help a couple through the process of breakup or divorce can facilitate a more healthy and positive ending, and save a great deal of money on legal fees, as attorneys may not even be needed.
My work is informed by Pscychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Committment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as alternatives therapies and spiritual practices such as Transcendental Meditation, 12 step programs, and psychobiological interventions.
Taking the first step is often the most difficult. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to set up a first appointment.
